Progeria

Progeria ( layout for electronic e ) is a progressive genetic disorder that causes children to age rapidly , beginning with the first two years of life.

Children with Progeria , Hutchinson Gilford progeria also syndrome (HGPS) is known , there are usually normal at birth . By 12 months , signs and symptoms , such as slow growth and hair loss are beginning to emerge . The average life expectancy for a child with progeria is 13 , but some with the disease die earlier and some live 20 years or more .

Heart problems or strokes are the ultimate cause of death in most children with progeria . There is no cure for this disease, but recent research shows some promise for treatment.
